It’s Only Decorating
This month, we’re featuring the work of two of my favourite designers: Nam Dang-Mitchell and Philip Mitchell. No, they aren’t related, but they have a lot in common. Although their styles are very different, they both produce rooms that are stunning, joyful and beautifully detailed. You’ve seen them featured on our pages many times over the years. Nam’s work is subtle, often monochromatic, and focused on organic materials and modern silhouettes. This month’s cover house that Nam designed for a Calgary family on the island of Maui (page 52) is a wonderful example of her relaxed, sparkling style. Philip’s rooms are exquisitely detailed, comfortable, more colourful and layered, and with the same attention to detail.
