ALEX DAULEY / INTERIOR DESIGNER ‘I’ve always loved houses and, while renovating our first home, I binged all the TV design shows and read every magazine,’ says Alex, explaining how she caught the design bug. She had been working in a primary school office when, as a mature student, she undertook various courses at KLC School of Design. She graduated in 2015 with a Certificate in Residential Interior Design and started her company in 2016. 01 Jiang Qiong Er This designer, who splits her time between Paris and Shanghai, straddles the worlds of fashion and art, design and craft. Over the past 15 years, she has co-founded (with Hermès) Shang Xia, a luxury lifestyle brand celebrating Chinese craftsmanship, her work has entered the permanent collections of several major museums (including the V&A) and she has been honoured by the French Republic as a Chevalier de L’Ordre National du Mérite. This year, Jiang has collaborated with French design house Roche Bobois on ‘Bamboo Mood’, a striking collection of screens, rugs, upholstered furniture and side tables featuring bamboo motifs, launched during this year’s Milan Design Week.
