Dear Friends While planning the themes covered in Victoria’s latest volume, Our Hearts Are in Scotland, I came upon the endearing term coorie. “A hug of a word,” shares author Gabriella Bennett, who defines it as the “Scottish art of deriving comfort, well-being, and energy from wild landscapes and convivial interiors.” She explains the informal usage, which is more personal in nature, as the snug welcome of nestling affectionately with a loved one. Both senses of the word resonate with me in contemplating both the new book and our September/October double issue.
