As a tech editor and Apple fan, I’m constantly eager to see the next breakthrough that will change the way we live our lives. This spring, I thought augmented reality might be just that with the release of the Vision Pro headset. While the eye tracking technology was meticulously executed and remarkable to use (see the summer issue for our review), the heavy contraption had too many problems to gain traction. In June at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the real industry-disrupting technology was revealed—Apple’s own AI, Apple Intelligence.
