EDITOR’S LETTER
I began writing this letter from my mom’s house. It isn’t the house I grew up in, yet it is the one I call home. This got me thinking about what makes a home, which is the theme of this month’s issue. The answer I keep coming back to is that it’s a space of belonging. I can make a home anywhere; it’s something I had to learn how to do early on, and it is centered on feelings of peace, comfort, and safety. It’s seldom an actual physical space. So you won’t find a traditional house tour in this issue, but you will find different explorations of how we find and make a home.
